KWASSIE ART STUDIO

OPEN PAINTING SESSIONS - join anytime!

At the sessions, you will have the opportunity to work independently and get support and instruction whenever you need it from KWASSIE’s expert academic instructor. You can get ideas on what to paint at the studio (landscape, abstract, technique exercise etc.) and you are welcome to bring a photo of what you would like to realise!

💡The sessions are recommended if you have a little starting knowledge, if you have attended a KWASSIE beginner workshop or if you are intermediate/advanced and want to further develop. However, we have fun learning templates for absolute beginners, so if you are open to experimentation and having fun with a spontaneous learning process, you will be able to learn lots here too. As we work in small groups, there will be lots of opportunity for you to get plenty of one on one feedback on your work and advance your painting and creative skills.

❗️ Please note that this is an open painting session - depending on the complexity of your work you might need 2 or more sessions to complete a work. If your work is not too complex, you can finish a small to mid-format in one session!

TEACHING METHOD AND TECHNIQUE

The focus of the sessions is on drawing techniques (pencil, charcoal, pastel, pens) watercolour and acrylic painting as well as collage.

The focus at KWASSIE is on fine arts and covering colour theory, mixing and matching colours, and getting a foundational knowledge of sketching, proportions, composition and shading. However, we encourage experimentation, foster a non-judgemental approach and exploring creativity, so it is a nice mix of classical technique and modern thinking.

PAINTING MATERIAL

CLASS FEE: The class fee (€40) covers 2hrs of instruction and all material for drawing or watercolour painting.

If you want to paint with acrylics (we use high-quality paints from Royal Talens for best painting results):

ACRYLICS BASIC: +€6 covers a small canvas (30x20cm) and all material for acrylic painting

ACRYLICS MID-SIZE: +€10 covers a mid-size canvas (40x30cm) and all material for acrylic painting

ACRYLICS LARGE SCALE: +€20 covers a large-scale canvas (50x70cm) and all material for acrylic painting

You can prebook your canvas or you can purchase it directly at the studio!

BONUS CARD

For regular KWASSIE creatives, every 8th session is free. You will get a KWASSIE bonus card, so please bring it every time you come to get it stamped! 

SPECIAL OFFER FOR A CLASS BUNDLE

€280 instead of €320 for 8 classes!

If you would like to book multiple classes and secure your spots in advance, please write to hello@kwassie.at. For 8 booked sessions, you get one free and will only pay for 7 (instead of € 320, you will pay € 280 for the class fee). The class fee includes basic material for drawing or watercolour painting. If you want to paint with acrylics, you can purchase different sized canvases at the studio!

REFRESHMENTS

Coffee & Tea and snacks are free. Alcoholic and other drinks available at the studio for a small contribution.
