Technique: Collage on Cardboard

In this class you will learn how to make a collage portrait. Through a step by step process, you will learn how to create a foundation drawing for collaging, and how to use found colours in newspapers and magazines to create a convincing portrait. You will also learn how to create simple shading just with collage. 

At the end of the class, you will have a finished collage portrait to take with you.

💡IMPORTANT: We recommend bringing a portrait (a friend, family member, self-portrait, famous person or even pet) of your own to make it more personal. Please bring a printout of your portrait of choice on an A4 paper (horizontal or vertical both work) on normal office paper. Please make sure that the portrait is big enough (just the face or the face and shoulders in the picture) and that it is just one person in the picture. If you don't have one, there are portraits of celebrities to choose from at the studio!

MATERIAL

All material (collage material (newspapers, magazines), collage tools) as well as tea and coffee are included in the price of the class.

WHAT WILL I TAKE HOME?

At the end of this session, you will have 1 complete work to take home with you.
