ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

In this class, you will learn the foundations of acrylic painting - colour mixing, grading, shading, colour theory as well as creating an illusion of space with shadows and highlights by using exciting studio-original templates featuring geometric objects. You will also get acquainted with all the necessary tools and material used in acrylic painting. All in a fun, relaxed and cozy atmosphere!

If you already have some experience with acrylics and are thinking of attending, the templates are very versatile and can be applied to more advanced levels to. You can also create your own geometric composition with the help of the instructor.

TEACHING METHOD

KWASSIE fosters a non-judgemental approach and exploring creativity, so it is a nice mix of classical fine arts technique and modern thinking. We also like to provide examples and discuss art history and contemporary art, so you will get a well-rounded art experience.

MATERIAL

All material (paints, brushes, templates, palettes etc.) including the canvas is included in the price of the class as well as drinks (wine, tea, coffee) throughout. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be advised that acrylic colours are not the easiest to wash from clothing! An apron is provided for you to use on site, however, we recommend you not to come in the finest clothing - or to bring some extra protective clothing! ☺️

WHAT WILL I TAKE HOME?

At the end of the class, you will be able to take home your very own finished painting on canvas (40 x 30 cm). 

BONUS CARD & CONTINUING PAINTING

For regular KWASSIE creatives, every 8th session is free. You will get a KWASSIE bonus card, so please bring it every time you come to get it stamped! 

After attending the Acrylic Painting Intro class, the Painting Sessions on Thursdays are ideal to continue as they have the format of an open studio, but with an instructor present to support your work.
